AMSA has advised that additional focus is going to be directed towards stowage and securing arrangements during forthcoming port state control inspections in Australia.
We would like to to bring our members' attention to the release of AMSA Marine Notice 2018/3, relating to Proper Stowage of Cargo Containers (August 2018).
AMSA has advised that additional focus is going to be directed towards stowage and securing arrangements during forthcoming port state control inspections in Australia and if evidence is found that the weight distribution and stack weights are not in compliance with the approved cargo stowage arrangements, the securing arrangements are not in accordance with the approved cargo securing manual or the cargo securing manual does not adequately cover the relevant cargo then action will be taken by AMSA to bring the ship into compliance.
