Seafarer wellbeing has been a focal point for Standard Club in recent years, demonstrated by our decision to be a signatory to the Global Maritime Forum’s 2021 Neptune Declaration.

The Loss Prevention team has produced a range of resources on seafarer wellbeing, from publications to our poster campaign, for seafarers in a bid to raise awareness on the topic. Seafarers face a number of possible mental health challenges being at sea for long periods and these have been exacerbated during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Club has issued guidance on mental health for seafarer’s during the pandemic available below.
