​The Club's correspondent in Panama has informed us that from 15th February 2020 the Panama Canal Authority has fixed a fresh water surcharge at USD 10,000 applicable to vessels over 38.1mtrs LOA and a variable fee based on the vessel's tolls.

​The Club's correspondent in Panama has informed us that from 15th February 2020 the Panama Canal Authority has fixed a fresh water surcharge at USD 10,000 applicable to vessels over 38.1mtrs LOA and a variable fee based on the vessel's tolls.  

Further, the Panama Canal Authority will also introduce (i) a new Vessel Visit Creation Fee (ETA Handling fee) and (ii) changes to the transit pre-booking system, including payment.  For vessels of 91ft in beam and over the fee is USD 5,000, and for vessels over 125ft LOA but less than 91ft in beam the fee is USD 1,500.
