The club has been advised by the local correspondents in China that effective 13 December 2016, the Chinese Ministry of Transport has issued a notice confirming that the previous regulation requiring international ocean-going vessels to dispose sludge and garbage is no longer mandatory. Consequently the previous requirement for ocean-going vessels to present a valid Pollutant Disposal Certificate (PDC) to the Maritime Safety Administration prior ship’s departure from Chinese ports is now abolished.
