A meeting of the European inland transport committee working party on the Transport of Dangerous Goods (ADN) took place on 27-30 January. Amongst the items discussed was the clarification of the terms “safe area” and “safe haven” on barges that carry dangerous goods. The ambiguous wording has led to various interpretations by classification societies. The draft document INF 14 (attached) has been issued to follow Multilateral agreement.
