Web alert: update on current status of Yemen ports

We refer to our last update on the security situation at Yemen, dated 21 August 2015 and advise our members the following:

1. The Ports of Aden and Saleef are reported to be operational and open to commercial vessels;
2. Hodeidah Port remains closed and it is not clear when it will open;
3. Ras Isa Port has been now closed and it is not clear when it will re-open.

Our local correspondent GAC has highlighted that generally there are still power shortages and communication difficulties in Yemen as the infrastructure appears to be struggling.

Members should be aware that there is scarcity of surveyors in the region - travelling even to operational ports, such as Saleef, appears to be difficult for experts and/or surveyors located in other nearby areas.
