Sam is the Syndicate Director of The Standard Club’s Atlantic Syndicate with responsibility for members based in the UK, Canada, the USA and South America. Sam practised as a solicitor in England and Australia for over ten years prior to joining the club in 2008 and specialises in major casualty response, personal injury and maritime security issues.
Sam represents the club on the International Group’s salvage, maritime security and Federal Maritime Commission subcommittees and large casualty and piracy working groups.
Sam has been responsible for The Standard Club’s responses to the MSC Chitra, MV Rena and most recently, Costa Concordia and Amadeo 1 casualties.
