Further to the club’s last update on the Panama Canal draft reduction, the Panama Canal Authority (ACP) has issued a new Advisory to Shipping (No. A-23-2016) announcing the postponement of the third draft restriction, originally scheduled for 9th May 2016, but now postponed until 25th May 2016.

Further to the club’s last update on the Panama Canal draft reduction, the Panama Canal Authority (ACP) has issued a new Advisory to Shipping (No. A-23-2016) announcing the postponement of the third draft restriction, originally scheduled for 9 May 2016, but now postponed until 25 May 2016.
 
The current reduced maximum permissible draft is 11.74m (38.5 feet) in tropical fresh water (TFW - density of 0.9954 at 29.4C) and will remain in effect until the 24 May 2016. On the 25 May 2016 the new restriction will come into effect.
 
Members are recommended to ensure that their vessels which are due for Panama Canal transit observe the new draft limitations until further announcements are received from the Panama Canal Authority (ACP).
