Maritime UK has prepared a document setting out its priorities during Britain’s EU exit negotiations and future trade deals.
Maritime UK has prepared a document setting out its priorities during Britain’s EU exit negotiations and future trade deals. Following consultation with a broad cross-section of the UK’s shipping, ports, marine and business service sectors, Maritime UK identified key issues of common interest to the industry as a whole. These issues are:
• creating an attractive business environment;
• adopting a global approach to global issues;
• championing British skills, services and goods.
The document, titled 'The UK maritime industry's priorities for the forthcoming Brexit negotiations' was presented to Minister for the maritime industries, Rt Hon John Hayes MP, at the Southampton Boat Show on 21st September.
