Sailors' Society Wellness at Sea - Helping you cope with the impact of COVID-19

Seafarer wellbeing has been a focal topic for Standard Club in recent years, particularly during the Covid-19 pandemic and we are proud to be working in partnership with Sailors’ Society’s Wellness at Sea programme, sharing helpful advice and resources over the coming months.

Seafarers are in a tough spot right now as the pandemic brings about many restrictions that are not in favour of crew changes and more. Disappointment along with other feelings of sadness, anger, blame, doubt and a whole list of doom and gloom emotions can chip away at positive thoughts and blanket everyday life with a very melancholic and despondent outlook.

Remember you are not alone. Thousands of seafarers are in the exact same situation and the burden of this circumstance is what many international organisations and governments are trying to alleviate.

As the world attempts to recover by ramping up vaccination and more, have a listen to this podcast and explore some of these ways you and your crewmates can help support each other by coping with the mental health impact of Covid-19.

Stay tuned to this space as more resources from both Standard Club and Sailors’ Society will be shared regularly.
