Members are advised that the US Coast Guard reports the merger of the Alaska Alternative Planning Criteria (APC) administrators, Alaska Chadux Corporation and Alaska Maritime Prevention & Response Network (AMPRN), into Alaska Chadux Network. Alternative Planning Criteria are utilized where response resources are not available in remote areas of Alaskan waters due to the unavailability of commercial response resources which satisfy the national planning standard. Consequently, vessels must enroll and comply with the risk reduction criteria outlined by an approved APC to minimize or prevent pollution when operating or transiting through the Western Alaska Captain of the Port zone.

It is noted that vessel response plan holders should submit supporting documentation for the administrator change at the next plan revision or during an annual review no later than 1 July 2021.Further, plan holders should notify the VRP Helpdesk of their new administrator. If you have any questions about this alert, please contact your usual claims handler for further assistance.
