Web Alert: New panamax ship requirements for those ships arriving at Panama Canal, 29 November 2012
The Panama Canal Authority (PCA) has issued up-to-date requirements for all ships arriving at the Panama Canal in an advisory issued 23 November 2012. The purpose of the PCA advisory is to inform the shipping community of the new definitions and requirements applicable to ships docking or visiting the Panama Canal. Those ships that are not in compliance with the PCA’s ship requirements will be evaluated in order to determine the conditions, if any, under which they may be allowed to transit or dock. Ships that require additional resources due to non-compliance will be charged accordingly. We ask that all owners, operators and shipping agents who have ships visiting or transiting the Panama canal to please take note of this advisory. For more information, please click here.
