The club’s correspondent in Uruguay (CHADWICK WEIR NAVEGACION S.A.) has notified us that the current draft for vessels transiting the Martín García channel has been reduced with immediate effect.

The club’s correspondent in Uruguay (CHADWICK WEIR NAVEGACION S.A.) has notified us that the current draft for vessels transiting the Martín García channel has been reduced with immediate effect.
 
As per the Uruguayan Pilot’s notice, the maximum transit drafts are as follows: 

  • Vessels up to 200 meters length: 8.00m (26.25 feet)
  • Vessels fitting the channel design: 7.70m (25.26 feet)
  • Oversize vessels: 7.30m (23.95 feet) 
     

The transit will be performed with a tide height not lower than 0.60m above datum.
 
Members are recommended to ensure that vessels due to transit this channel observe the draft limitations until further announcements from the local authorities are made.
